Lime and wine stains: easy to clean
Hard water and lime stains on glasses and decanters can be washed away with a solution of 3 handfuls of coarse salt mixed in half a liter of white vinegar, or the juice of a lemon. Pour in the mixture, shake well and let it stand for a while. Later on, simply rinse under clear and hot water. If the stains remain, use a soft cleaning brush designed for that purpose.

Keeping away unpleasant smells
Never store away clean glasses and decanters upside-down in the cabinet or in a cardboard box. Odours of wood or cardboard could leave unwelcomed smells to the glasses and decanters and definitely disturb the real flavour of the wine.
